The Glitch Mob - Drive It Like You Stole It

So yesterday I decided that instead of going to Parklife for the inevitable case of why-did-I-spent-$200-on-this?-syndrome, I was hooked up with behind-the-scenes work by a friend.

After much consideration, I can tell you now that working at a festival may well be the best way to experience a festival you do not like. I was protected from the horrible weather, crowds and bad bands by security, easy work and the thought of the huge penalty rates they had to pay me.

Meanwhile, I had just enough time left at the end of the day to see The Glitch Mob, who were absolutely spectacular. The above track got the mash-up treatment with Tupac’s California Love, and it was amazing. For three guys who essentially just play with touchscreen laptops and drum machines, they put on a hell of a show.

So while everyone else had to deal with Soulwax, Groove Armada and Missy Elliott being boring as hell, I walked into one of the coolest sets I’ve seen this year with free Red Bull and got paid for it. Feels good man.
