Like Top Ten of the Year quality. Honestly they could have called this Fast and the Furious: This Time, We Actually Put Some Thought Into It. Not once is there a gratuitous shot of Christina Hendricks’ boobs which hasn’t happened since Serenity. Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman are awesome. Carey Mulligan isn’t a vapid love interest, as well. Rather, she and her family is more a thematic representation of the envisioned normality of the “outside” world that is forever out of reach to all the major players, one even she buys into despite the company she keeps. In fact this is establish more via her son than through her. Lots of people have been saying she’s been miscast but I found her to be perfect in this sense. She plays the sensible being really well, which is probably why I didn’t buy her role in Wall Street 2. There is fuckloads of gore in the third act. Go watch it yesterday or I’ll punch you now.
