"I have seen people create costumes - using only a Singer sewing machine, a hot glue gun, a hairdryer and various readily available materials - that look EXACTLY like the onscreen ones that inspired the cosplay, so why couldn’t it work in reverse? Complaining that Peter couldn’t possibly make his own Spider-Man suit seems like the most arbitrary criticism of the “realisticness” of The Amazing Spider-Man, and yet that very plot point is basically the one thing about the film that is realistic!"
A friend of mine who lives in Western Sydney is going through a lot right now and she needs a friend. She is 16 years old and is currently going to school with a boy that sexually assaulted her. The boy apparently takes pleasure in occasionally bullying her, and her parents are un-supportive. The shorthand is that she isn’t getting the idea support from people in her immediate community. She expressed interest in letting me reach out to see if there is anyone who lives in her area who might be able to be there for her when things are tough. Maybe ideally somebody who she can relate to?
Just in case she isn’t comfortable with her problems being plastered all over the freaking internet, I won’t post her URL, but if you come to me directly, I will. I live in Chicago, otherwise i’d be there myself. She is a really cool girl who probably has a lot of the same fandom related interests as you. I think you’d like to meet her.
I have had this photo open in a tab since albertinho sent it to me over Facebook chat during the Super Bowl and said “LOOK CAITLIN I AM JON HAMM IN THIS PICTURE” or words to that effect.
I’m gonna leave it open.
For the record, when the right is “me”, the left is “society”

Stuart Ringholt’s work often deals with themes of fear and embarrassment. In Preceded by a tour of the show by artist Stuart Ringholt 6-8pm (the artist will be naked. Those who wish to join the tour must also be naked. Adults only) audiences are invited to gain a new perspective on the current MCA exhibitions by viewing them entirely nude. Occuring outside of museum opening hours, these tours give the rare opportunity to (literally) remove the material barriers between artist and audience.
Aww, Timehop. It’s funny, the more data I fed into different networks last year, the more I get back every morning with the Timehop email.
Today’s email not only reminded me of this picture I took on the L train, it actually tells me that I was on my way to meet Andy in person for the first time to have lunch at Pastis. Oh and today last year was also the day I fist met Fred, John and David.
Love Timehop. I didn’t know I “needed’ it until I started receiving these emails every day.
