Fair enough. But I still hate that they have to make Watson a woman. Why not make them both women if they have to at all? The only point in changing the gender of one character is for sexual tension. And that’s bullshit.

The amount of racism and sexism towards the casting of Lucy Liu in the US Sherlock remake is actually disgusting.
Also notable: how the fandom completely forgets that Sherlock Holmes has been appropriated and retold a billion and one times by everyone ever, including that one time they made him Robert Downey Jr, and that other time they made him an American doctor and called him Gregory House.

If I believed everything Tumblr claimed about pop culture and sexuality, every male character in every genre film ever made would be gay.
